on the way.
Summer’s on the way here. It creeps into the afternoon, beats down when you least expect it and retreats for the cool night to take over. All these little afternoon hints of it are making me crave the unbearably hot weather, bright red tomatoes, spontaneous trips to the beach, tanned skin and no make-up, ice cold beers, sunglasses and sun.
These are some of my last remaining pictures from the mild winter months, which have quietly tip-toed into spring. This winter has meant scarves, boots and warm coffees. It’s meant little rain, absolutely no snow and lots of brisk mornings. It’s meant early evenings, hearty meals and so many wonderful moments.
As usual, I’m happy to see the seasons turning. And it’s hard not to smile when you see the sun shining and a beautiful day ahead of you.
Cheers to the inevitable goodbye to winter, a swift spring, and a summer I can’t wait to get here. Cheers to looking out the window, seeing the sun and feeling happy, and cheers to consciously calling sick into work for an afternoon filled with a lovely beach, freezing water, a burning sun, fresh fish, cold beer and and so many laughs.
